Graduating from North Carolina State University, I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a focus in Childhood Development. I worked as a teaching assistant and teacher at a local Montessori school for just over three years. I have a love for art and teaching and have many years of alternative teaching experience beginning when I was just in high school!

I love the sense of community that ACA provides. We don’t give up on students and provide many opportunities for success. Even though it looks different for each student, we do everything we can to make sure each student has a bright future and success story to follow!

My greatest personal achievement is the fact that I have been teaching since I was 15 years old. Growing up, I aspired to teach and would do anything to make that happen. Now, it is a reality!

My classroom functions on a freedom value, allowing students to explore friendships, alternative learning methods, and a variety of choice making activities. I am so proud that they are able to take this learned freedom and work with it in a productive and school appropriate way!
Something people might be surprised to learn about me is…
I have a dog who consumes my entire being, alongside that I create and sell artwork in the Triangle area. Having two gallery openings within the last 5 months, I am creating art to keep my homebase happy!
